And we are happy to say that Cruisers Sub Shop is definitely one of the good ones, offering breakfast and lunch in casually quaint environs. The Restaurant
Located at 685 Marketplace Plaza C4, Closed Sundays During Mud Season
It was the surfboards that captured our attention when Cruisers first opened in 2011, fascinating us mountain folk, as we have never lived near the water, but it was the food that made us lifelong enthusiasts. In a building made of glass and wood, the smoothly polished surfboard bearing the restaurant’s name hangs over the entrance, and when you walk inside, you will find more hanging over the counter where you will place your food order, as well as a few colorfully painted skateboard bodies. There aren’t a lot of tables inside, but they do offer a small patio outside, and there is always the opportunity to take your meal on the road because everything they serve is handheld. Reasonably priced, you can count on getting in and out of there spending far less than you might expect, with their prices running in the $10 to $20 range.
The Menu
We can’t decide what we love more about Cruisers: the delicious and hearty nature of every sub and sandwich served or the realization that the ingredients used are locally sourced (most come from Hayden Fresh Farm). Their breakfast menu does expand, including a smoothie and acai menu that is really popular in the warmer months, and their lunch menu is surprisingly large. Offering just about every type of sub you could dream about, including meatball and carnitas and a Toasties menu that takes the traditional grilled cheese sandwich to the next level of wow, we have never left Cruisers feeling less than full and we know you won’t either,
