Sometimes the hardest part of opening a new restaurant is coming up with a name that is unique, but we think Laundry Kitchen & Cocktails managed to do it right. Paying homage to the Steamboat Laundry that resided in the space from 1910 until 1977, this yummy spot specializes in small plates and innovative charcuteries and is one of our favorite places to dine. The menu changes seasonally as well, with every change being tasty, and when you come home to Grand Adventure Company’s comfortable lodgings after your meal, your evening in Steamboat Springs will be complete! Discover why Laundry is a favorite for places when choosing Steamboat places to eat.
Located at 127 11th Street, Open Daily from 4:30 PM To 9:00 PM
Offering a sophisticated urban décor that includes a touch of industrial chic, the bricks that line the walls provide a peek into the history of the 100+ year old building the restaurant is housed in. Laundry is the kind of restaurant you would expect to see the executives from Mad Men sitting at the bar, sipping martinis, and where hip young skiers meet, date, and fall in love with other hip young skiers, and the servers are friendly without being overly familiar. This isn’t a restaurant where staff tries to sit with you at the table, but you will enjoy your interactions with each and every person who works here. A patio with tables shaded by colorful umbrellas and mature trees is popular in the summer months, but the wood bar inside may be your favorite dining spot.
The Menu
There are a selection of menus at Laundry Kitchen & Cocktails and their Happy Hour menu is perfect for après ski, featuring deals on beers, wines, cocktails, and straight liquors, while also offering up a snack section and a selection of tacos for only $5 each. It’s dinner menu is quite extensive, including bison chuck roast and tender elk tips. Are you looking to impress your favorite traveling partner? Laundry’s Chef Choice menu isn’t inexpensive, but its elevated selections will spoil your date for all other meals and their wagyu striploin served with roasted mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and blue cheese fondue will make you cry happy tears. Finally, no meal can be considered complete without something sweet and the dessert menu will make you wish you had a second stomach!
The portion sizes can be quite large but if you don’t have room for dessert, don’t skip it altogether, order a slice of Rex’s Coconut Cream Pie or their chocolate bar flourless cake to take home to your Grand Adventure Company Colorado retreat to enjoy as a midnight snack.
