Mountain Tap Brewery

The Colorado gold rush and the first brewery opened within a year of each other, both providing joy to all who find it, and Colorado has been known for its beer ever since. Although Mountain Tap Brewery doesn’t have a 160 year history, it has been bringing us joy since 2016, and today, we at Grand Adventure Company thought it would be fun to shine the spotlight on this local business. Offering a small menu and a large selection of beers brewed on the premises, a visit to this gastropub is highly recommended.

The Restaurant

Located at 910 Yampa Street, Closed Mondays

Featuring a modern décor that leans toward industrial chic, Mountain Tap Brewery is a light and bright space, due in part to glass garage doors that can be closed when the weather is cold and left open during warmer days, letting in the fresh clean mountain air and providing easy access to the patio out back. This is a popular après ski location and the behind the scene tours they offer every Wednesday from 3-4 PM are often sold out, space is limited, and your $15 ticket to attend includes a tasting of 4 five ounce beers at the end of the tour. We’ve taken it ourselves and find it extremely fascinating and has been the impetus to start brewing our own beers at home. Somehow, our home brews never taste as good as the ones from Mountain Tap Brewery, but we have hope.

The Menu

Most breweries don’t offer a menu of food beyond quick snacks, but Mountain Tap is not most breweries, standing out in a sea of sudsy wonders by offering a selection of foods that are baked in a wood fire oven. There is a snack menu too, featuring popcorn, garlic rolls, hummus, and, of course, a beer cheese dip served with warm house made bread, but it is the pizzas we can’t get enough of and highly recommend to all our guests.

The Beers

There just aren’t enough words to discuss all the beers offered at Mountain Tap Brewery, suffice it to say that if there’s a type of beer you love, IPA, Stout, Ale, Pilsner, their versions will quench your thirst and satisfy your soul. If we had to pick a favorite, their Farmhouse Peche is a Belgian style ale brewed with peaches and never fails to make our taste buds dance with joy!

Growlers to Go

The story gets even better as Mountain Tap offers growlers to go, enabling you to enjoy your favorites at home in our Grand Adventure Company Colorado escapes. Reserve your favorite today!
