When traveling some of your favorite memories may be the ones that involve the food you eat and because we don’t want our Grand Adventure Company guests experiencing a sour note, we like to shine a spotlight on some of our favorite local eating spots. Steamboat Springs is known more for its mountain landscape and the skiing that occurs there, but we have also developed a reputation as being a foodie’s paradise. Today, we are taking a tour of the Paramount in Steamboat, a reasonably priced breakfast, lunch, and après ski spot offering a mountainside patio and an all-American menu that will make you feel right at home.
The Restaurant

Casual, relaxing, and welcoming the Paramount is a counter serve establishment that doesn’t believe in pretenses. What you see is what you get, and their chalkboard menu lists all the daily specials and all your favorite foods, as well as showing off a strong beer, wine, and spirits presence. Summer visitors will want to take their meal to the patio, sitting at tables shaded with colorful umbrellas while staring off at stunning views of the mountains where our winter visitors spend much of their time. Service is friendly here and if you fall in love with their food (and we think you will!) returning more than once, chances are you will be recognized and considered a regular.
The Menu
If you were to ask us what our favorite dish is, we wouldn’t be able to narrow it down to just one, but we could narrow it down to two per day if we were pushed. Their breakfast menu covers all the bases, with their alphabet starting with avocado toast, biscuits and gravy, and chilaquiles instead of the standard ABCs. Savor a thick and juicy steak and egg breakfast on the coldest mornings, perhaps with a side of fluffy pancakes or keep it light with an elegant meal of salmon and eggs, all of which deserve to be washed down with a spicy Bloody Mary! At lunch, your thoughts will turn to soup, salads, and thick sandwiches loaded with all the meats unless you order the Roasted Veggie, piled high with artichoke hearts, spinach, roasted peppers, hummus, mixed greens, and provolone cheese.
Hearty Portions But No Leftovers
The portions at the Paramount are generous sized ones, but your appetite will be large as well, so you probably won’t find yourself bringing home any leftovers. What you will do, however, is dream about every bite as you sleep in the most comfortable beds in the state, waking up ready to see what good food the new day will bring.
