The Restaurant
Located at 635 Lincoln Avenue, Open Daily 8 AM to 4 PM
Sandwich spots aren’t always known for their interior design skills, offering a more utilitarian approach to setting up their spaces, but Yampa Sandwich Company goes the extra step, creating a welcoming dining area filled with charm. Large windows let in the light and views of the downtown area, dark green painted wood chairs with rush seats are tucked under wood and steel tables, and knotty pine paneling adorns the walls and when the sub or sandwich piled high with your favorite toppings is sitting in front of you, the picture of perfection is finally complete. This is a counter serve restaurant, but the personal touch is not absent and if you visit more than once you will become family, something that not all casual restaurants manage to provide.
The Menu
Yampa’s breakfast menu is smaller than their lunch one, but it doesn’t miss a beat at offering food that will fill you up and prepare you for a day of Steamboat Springs adventures. Their sammies, served on toasted brioche, are loaded with eggs, meats, and other toppings (we can’t get enough of their Ranchero Sammy, made with chorizo, chiles, and avocado) and because they also offer yogurt and a tasty burrito, everyone is sure to find a meal that makes them happy. At lunch, the menu expands exponentially, offering a large variety of subs, sandwiches, salads, and soups and if you take a little bit longer than normal to make a decision, it’s ok, they are used to it. And please don’t make us choose our favorite; we have been diligently working our way through the menu and everything they offer has become our favorite at one point or another! A vegetarian sandwich selection may surprise because most sandwich shops tend to feel that their obligations to vegetarians ends with providing a salad on the menu.
