Clark is a very generous city, offering a variety of state parks for us to play in, and Pearl Lake State Park may not be as large as Steamboat Lake State Park, but it has been a favorite playground since 1964, 8 years longer than the former. Open daily at 8 AM, the park closes at 4 PM in the winter months (October through April) and 5 PM, Monday through Thursday, and 6 PM Friday through Sunday in the summer months. Offering picnic tables and barbecue grills, a summer barbecue with the family is an experience that shines brighter simply because of the parks position, nestled in the shadows of Hahn’s Peak.
Loving Summer at Pearl Lake State Park
This state park is built around the charms of Pearl Lake, a 167 square acre reservoir that permits wakeless boats only, including stand up paddleboards, kayaks, and canoes, and as you may guess, anglers love this park, spending many hours with pole in hand, hoping to catch their evening meal. Or lunch, since there are grills at the park, you don’t even have to carry your catch home, you can clean it, prepare it, and devour it right on the premises. Also, offering trails for hiking, birdwatching, and so many photo opportunities, this small state park offers a large portion of excitement!
