Located at 61105 RCR 129 in Clark, Open Daily from 8 AM Until 4 PM in the Winter, 5 or 6 PM in the Summer

First of all, you may notice that Steamboat Lake State Park isn’t in Steamboat Springs, it can be found in the nearby town of Clark, but we don’t think you will mind the 27-mile drive through the most beautiful scenery to get there. Open to the public since 1972, the park is a large one, covering 3000 acres, plus a 1000-acre reservoir, which will be the site of more exciting activities. The park is truly a family oriented one, offering family adventures that include picnic tables, barbecue grills, and invites your sweet fur baby to join in the fun, it also features a colorful playground that will make your tiniest travelers so very happy.

Summer Play

Summer months are considered May through September for these purposes and as you can imagine, there is a lot to do. Fishing is popular in the warm months, with the marina selling fishing licenses, bait, and tackle, as is hiking, biking, boating (the marina offers boat rentals) and a variety of water sports, including stand up paddleboarding. Birdwatchers love the park in the summer months and photographers can’t keep their fingers off the shutter button on their cameras, bringing home thousands of pictures that are all worthy of framing.

Winter Excitement

Winter months are from October through April, and although the park closes earlier during the season, there is still a long list of activities you can participate in. Fishing is still popular during the winter months, only it is performed in little huts with holes cut through the ice, and the stunning landscape of the park can be explored during cross country skiing adventures and snowshoeing hikes.
