Steamboat Ski Resort

We’ve explored a lot of the area that surrounds Steamboat Springs during our adventure guides, but like the elephant in the room, we’ve ignored the number one attraction to our Colorado mountain town, until now. Steamboat Ski Resort, known throughout the world for its “champagne powder” and for being the home of more US Olympians than any other place, is just another wonderful example as to why you should spend your winter vacation right here in Steamboat Springs. Today’s guide to the resort and our Grand Adventure Lodging Company Colorado retreats will give you a peek into the most idyllic vacation experience of all, and better yet, this experience can be a year-round one!

Ski Season Runs from Late November to Mid or Late April

Steamboat Springs revolves around the ski resort, so you really don’t need the address, just follow the signs once you arrive in town! Offering a year-round vacation experience, the resort is perhaps best known for its winter adventures, offering 181 named ski trails that encompass nearly 3000 acres of skiable terrain. Its longest run, named “Why Not” stretches out over three breathtaking miles, and when we say breathtaking, we mean the exertion and the views will literally take your breath away! 23 lifts will take you to the tops of the trails and the summit of Mt. Werner will take you 10,568 feet into the clouds. The terrain parks of Steamboat Ski Resort, three in total, are each designed to match the ski experience of those exploring them. (The resort also offers lessons for skiers of all experience levels) Lil Rodeo is our entry level park, Rabbit Ears is ideal for beginner and intermediate skiers and boarders, and Mavericks is the largest terrain park of all, well suited for both intermediate and expert skiers.

Summer Adventures at Steamboat Ski Resort

The fun doesn’t end with the melting of the snow, which generally takes place mid-April; no, we just shift gears, incorporating hikes along many of the trails you may have skied upon in the winter months, leaf peeping tours on the ski lifts during the fall months, and scenic rides in the summer and a variety of free concerts that enhance your outdoor experiences! Mountain biking is also a popular activity, and there are many companies in the area that offer mountain biking tours for fun and excitement. Grand Adventure Company is where you want to stay, so be sure to reserve your favorite property with us today!
