Travelers will always tell you that it only makes sense to rent a place on the beach if you are on a beach vacation, and we at Grand Adventure Company will always tell you that it only makes sense to rent a space on the mountain if you are planning a ski vacation. Offering breathtaking views and the promise that you can be on the slopes within minutes of stepping outside your rental, choosing our escapes will ensure that your at home hours will be filled with fun, luxury, and comfort. This guide to our homes in the mountains of Colorado will help you choose a vacation retreat that will be a dream come true, setting the stage for a vacation that shines bright from beginning to end.
No Plans to Ski?
Maybe you don’t like to ski or maybe you are visiting when there won’t be snow on the ground, but a mountain vacation spent on the mountain is still an excellent idea. Your perch in the sky will offer those most stunning views, and whether you are peeking out the window early in morning, your first cup of coffee in hand watching as the sun rises higher on the Steamboat Springs mountain landscape, or you are seated on the deck, breathing in that fresh air as you sip wine and watch as the sun falls behind the mountains, the panoramic views will be that much more soul satisfying than the ones you would enjoy in the flatter landscape of town. Feeling as if you are the only people on the mountain, even as you may see skiers dressed in colorful winter garb doing their thing right outside your window is one of those weird dichotomies in life, something that the magic of Steamboat Springs makes possible.
Vacation Dreams Come True
Those first moments after you open the door are often the ones you remember the most, surprising you with the luxury and charm and making you realize there is nowhere else on earth you want to be. Every room filled with treasures waiting to be destroyed, wood floors creating paths that will lead you into those spaces, and as you can’t decide which part of the home you want to explore first, the smile on your face will grow larger. We aim to make your vacation life easier, so instead of forcing you to decide on where to start, we will lead you to the living room where you will casually hang when not on the slopes.
Living Rooms to Live In
Light, bright, and filled with all the comforts of home, the living rooms of our mountain sanctuaries may be where you spend a large part of your vacation hours. Sinking into plush sectionals, pulling a colorful throw off the back of the sofa, and flipping through the channels on the state of the art television mounted to the wall above the mantel of the fireplace; the only thing that would make this moment more spectacular would be if you had started in the kitchen, pouring yourself a glass of wine you stocked in the wine refrigerator tucked away under the counter first! This is your first day here, however, and chances are you haven’t shopped for essentials yet, so after a few minutes of relaxation and awe, (Can you really see the slopes from your perch on the leather sectional?) it’s time to move on to the next rooms on the tour.
The Center of Family and the Heart of the Home
We’re going to combine the next two rooms into one tour, because everything you do in the kitchen (the heart of the home) will take you to the dining room (the center of family) and vice versa. We don’t like to name drop, but we can’t help ourselves sometimes, and if names such as SubZero, Bosch, or Viking make you happy, you are going to love our kitchens! Designed to make you WANT to cook, you will be hobnobbing with the best names in the business, still smiling when you take your creations to the large dining tables that are often tucked away in windowed alcoves. The dining rooms in our open concept floor plans are where meals will be eaten, games will be played, and deep conversations will be held, adding more bright spots to the treasure trove of memories you will bring home with you at the end of your stay.
Sleep Tight, Dream Happy, and Wake Up Refreshed
Luxury can be a state of mind, and when you sleep deeply in our tranquil bedrooms, we can almost promise that all dreams will be happy and that when you wake up the next morning, you will feel refreshed and ready to face a new day of Colorado adventures. Reserve your favorite mountain retreat today!
FAQs
-
Are there any restaurants on the mountain?
There is nothing worse than having to store your skis and then drive down the mountain to get a meal in the middle of the day, so there are many opportunities for dining on the mountain, including the Thunderhead Food Court found at the top of the Steamboat Gondola.
-
Are there places to store our skis in the mountain home rentals?
Pretty much every vacation rental we offer will provide a place to store your skis when not in use, ranging from quiet alcoves furnished with hooks, shelves, and a bench to full sized storage rooms that offer the appearance of a very elegant and sophisticated locker room.
-
We had some things to do during the day today and didn’t get to ski, does Steamboat Ski Resort offer night time skiing?
Yes! Steamboat Ski Resort offers night skiing on Thursdays through Sundays, December through March. The resort uses Ultra-Tech that lights up the trail, so it is perfectly safe, and only one lift, the Christy Express, is open for nighttime skiing, but it does lead to five perfectly lit trails.

Is it possible for us to have a barbecue at home during our summer visit to Steamboat Springs?
It is absolutely possible to barbecue at home in your Grand Adventure Company retreat, as most, if not all, offer barbecues and dining tables outside so you can still enjoy the views while you eat your creations!
