A week in Steamboat Springs is a vacation that people all over the world dream about, and although you know how lucky you are to be able to experience it, you may be a little concerned that you won’t know how to fill all those minutes. You’ve chosen Grand Adventure Company for your vacation accommodations, and we do more than just provide the comfort you crave and the luxury you deserve; we also can help you experience a vacation filled with everything that makes our mountain town one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. This guide to your seven-day journey is an example of all we do, and your stay in our Steamboat Springs vacation rentals will show you how much we care about our guests!
Day 1: The Day Starts with Yum
Our parents always told us that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and although you could make your own in our fully equipped kitchens, a hearty breakfast at The Shack Café will satisfy your mom’s wish that you would eat well for the first meal of the day. (The Mountain Man Deluxe will sate even the hungriest of travelers.) Once you’ve tucked away every bite of the chicken fried steak and eggs, it will be time to begin your first adventure of the week, perhaps a day on the slopes? Steamboat Ski Resort is known for its champagne powder, and if you don’t quite know what that means, your first run down the mountain will explain it all.
Day 2: Summer in Steamboat Springs
Although we may be best known for our winter sports, Steamboat Springs is a year-round vacation destination, and for our summer visitors, a ride on white waters will make the greatest memory of all. Colorado River Guides, 970-875-4494, offers a variety of white water trips, giving guests a ride on the rapids they will never forget while offering half-day and full-day adventures that include pictures of your most exciting moment. For travelers who take the half-day trip, we suggest that Salt & Lime, an authentic Mexican restaurant, will help fill your empty tank while feeding your soul.
Day 3: Beer, Wine, and Spirits
You don’t have to worry about waking up when the alarm clock so rudely jangles in your ear, so why not take day three and take a tour of the breweries, wineries, and distilleries that can be found around town? Mountain Tap Brewery offers a selection of beers brewed on the spot and their menu features appetizers, pizzas, and delicious desserts. Steamboat Winery offers whites, reds, and nonalcoholic grape juices that will be loved by all. Routt Distillery is one of two distilleries in the region, offering spirits made from Colorado grains.
Day 4: Arts and Culture
Every day is a new adventure in Steamboat Springs and the 4th day of your journey may end up being one that explores the art and culture of this part of Colorado, and a visit to the Tread of Pioneers Museum will offer a peek into the history of skiing and agriculture while also exploring the art of Native Americans. The oldest continuously operating school of dance and theater, the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp, provides a variety of performances throughout the year, adding to your cultural adventures in Steamboat. Skull Creek Greek will add an international flair to your cultural experiences and don’t forget to try the baklava.
Day 5: Naturally Beautiful
On day five, we will take a day to explore the work of Mother Nature, hiking along the trails that traverse the area or hanging out at the Yampa River Botanic Park. Offering six acres comprised of 60 different gardens, this park is a seasonal one, only open during the summer months. Serenity rules, flowers bloom, and a variety of ponds, fountains, and water features will make the park your favorite part of your Steamboat Springs adventure. Feeling inspired by the beauty of your surroundings? Dinner at Seedz will continue the serenity and leave you feeling good about your food choices.
Day 6: Don’t Forget Your Souvenirs
Shopping for souvenirs is one of our favorite things to do while on vacation, and if you are of like mind, a day set aside just for shopping is next on the agenda. Pick up something cute to wear at Wanderlust Boutique, find gifts for your house sitter at Embellishments of Steamboat Springs, and grab yourself some awesome souvenirs at Steamboat Trading Company during your shopping expedition. Lunch at O’Neil’s Tavern and Grill will help give you the strength to continue your adventures throughout the afternoon, but because they are experts at the perfect pour of Guinness, your shopping story may morph into a day drinking adventure.
Day 7: All the Comforts of Home
Your last day in Steamboat Springs may be a day filled with creature comforts as you choose to stay home and explore the amenities of your Grand Adventure Company Steamboat sanctuary. Relaxing, watching TV, playing board games—your vacation home away home offers more ways to feel comfortable and at leisure. Reserve your favorite property with us today!
